Fossils are items used to revive prehistoric Pokémon. Fossil Ore generates in biomes matching #minecraft:is_overworld, from Y=-64 to Y=100, in veins of up to 3, with 10 placement attempts per chunk. The configured feature places Fossil in Gravel and Deepslate Fossil in Deepslate. Fortune can increase the number of covered fossils dropped; Silk Touch drops the ore block instead. Regular Fossil Ore selects from the configured common fossil pool, while Deepslate Fossil Ore selects from the configured rare pool.

Cleaning and revival

A covered fossil must first be placed in a Fossil Cleaner. Cleaning takes 360 ticks (18 seconds) and reveals the fossil inside. The clean fossil can then be placed in a Fossil Machine. It spends 1,600 ticks (80 seconds) becoming a Pokémon and another 3,200 ticks (160 seconds) growing, for a total of 240 seconds. Insert a Poké Ball before collecting the finished Pokémon; that ball becomes the revived Pokémon's Poké Ball.

Cloning Machine

The Cloning Machine creates either Mewtwo or Ditto from a player's Mew. A Mew can be used for at most 3 cloning attempts. Add exactly 3 booster blocks, then start the machine with an eligible Mew. The full process takes 510 ticks (25.5 seconds).

Each booster contributes the value shown below. The chance of producing Mewtwo is total booster value / 40; mixed sets use the same formula. A failed Mewtwo roll produces Ditto.

Booster block Value Success chance with 3
Iron Block 1 7.5%
Gold Block 3 22.5%
Diamond Block 5 37.5%

Successfully creating Mewtwo permanently breaks that Cloning Machine.

Cloned Pokémon use the configured Shiny rate; server configuration can disable the Cloning Machine.
