Z-Crystals

Z-Crystals are held items that let a Pokémon unleash a powerful Z-Move once per battle. Each Z-Crystal upgrades a compatible move into its Z-Move equivalent, dealing extra damage (for damaging moves) or granting a bonus effect (for status moves).

Requirements

To use a Z-Move you need both of the following:

1. A Z-Ring (or Z-Power Ring) worn by the trainer.
2. The matching Z-Crystal, held by the Pokémon, plus a compatible move in the Pokémon's moveset.

Type Z-Crystals

Each of the 18 types has its own Z-Crystal. Holding one turns any damaging move of that type into the type's generic Z-Move, and any status move of that type into its Z--prefixed form (e.g. Z-Agility).

Exclusive Z-Crystals are bound to a specific Pokémon and base move, unlocking a unique signature Z-Move that no other species can use.
