Doug: Ah, you must be the trainer Beck sent down from the lab. Good - we could use the help.
I'm Doug, field supervisor for the Crystal Caves operation. Normally this place is calm enough for research and mining.
But lately the Pokemon down here have been... agitated. Something in the caves has them stirred up.
They've been swarming the mining tunnels and driving the crew out. Hard to extract crystals when you're constantly under attack.
If you can thin out some of the wild Pokemon in the caves, we can get back to work and figure out what's causing the disturbance.
Doug: The caves are still too hot for the crew. We need those agitated Pokemon driven back before anyone can work safely.
Get in there, thin out a few of those cave Pokemon, and give the miners some breathing room.
Jan: Hey there, trainer! You look capable - exactly the kind of help I need.
Name's Jan. I run transport between camps out here in the highlands. Snow, rock, darkness - nothing moves through it better than a good sled team.
Problem is, my team's been shrinking lately. A few ran off chasing wild packs, and others... well, let's just say cave life isn't easy.
Poochyena and Mightyena make excellent sled runners. Strong, loyal, and they work well in packs.
If you can catch a few Poochyena and Mightyena for me, I can rebuild my dog sleigh team and keep supplies moving between the camps.
Boris: Ah! A trainer, eh? Good timing. These frozen waters have been stubborn today.
Name's Boris. I've been fishing this lake longer than most folks around here have been alive.
Problem is, the ice keeps driving the fish deeper. Hard to get a good catch from the shore these days.
Barboach and Whiscash still swim these waters though. Tough little things - they don't mind the cold one bit.
If you can catch a few Barboach and Whiscash for me, we'll both eat well tonight. I'll make it worth your time.
Beck: Ah, you must be the trainer Helen mentioned. Good - we can certainly use the extra hands.
There's no shortage of work here at the laboratory. Research notes to catalog, samples to examine... the usual chaos of scientific progress.
But our most urgent work isn't here. It's down at the Crystal Caves camp.
The team stationed there has been studying the strange crystal formations and the Pokemon that inhabit the caverns.
If you're willing to help, head into the Crystal Caves and find Doug at the camp. He'll put you to work right away.
Beck: Ah, you made it back to the lab. Doug still needs help down in the Crystal Caves camp.

The cold in the Mystic Highlands is relentless, and our heating systems require a steady supply of oil to keep the lab habitable.
We normally render heating oil from Pokemon with high fat content. It's efficient, sustainable, and surprisingly effective.
Wailmer and Spheal are excellent sources. Their natural blubber produces oil that burns hot and long - perfect for these conditions.
They are plentiful in the iced sea to the east, you will need to hike over the mountains to get there.
Scott: Oh! Perfect timing. You're the trainer helping around the lab, right?
I'm Scott, field researcher for the Mystic Highlands project. We're cataloging the Pokemon that live in the upper reaches of these mountains.
The Upper Highlands are a harsh environment - high winds, thin air, and constant cold. Not many species can thrive there.
That's exactly why we need proper data. Every Pokemon that survives up there tells us something about adaptation and ecosystem balance.
If you could head up into the Upper Highlands and catch some of the Pokemon living there, it would greatly help our research.
Sherpa Ang: Traveler! Good to see strong legs on the mountain trail.
I am Ang, a sherpa of these highlands. I guide travelers and carry supplies across the cold passes.
But the winds up here bite harder every season. Cloth from the lowlands does not last long.
Skiddo and Gogoat that live high in these mountains grow thick, warm wool. Best protection you can find against the mountain cold.
If you could catch a few Skiddo and Gogoat, I can gather the wool and make proper winter gear for the camps.
