This page summarizes the default Max Raid mechanics used by the loaded Pixelmon mod jar. Values come from Pixelmon's raid and drop configuration defaults, with raid spawn behavior read from the raid randomizer.

Den respawn

Setting Default Meaning
Respawn time 100 Interval used when checking whether a den receives a raid.
Respawn chance 75.00% Chance that a respawn check creates a raid. The roll can be changed or canceled by the raid randomize event.

Star selection

A den first builds a weighted set of raid spawn entries whose biome list contains the den's biome. One spawn entry is selected by its raid spawn weight. The raid star level is then sampled from that spawn entry's configured star provider, and the chosen value can be changed or canceled by the star-level event. The default raid star weight configuration is:

Stars Weight Share of default weights
1 star 19 43.18%
2 star 12 27.27%
3 star 9 20.45%
4 star 3 6.82%
5 star 1 2.27%

Legendary and Ultra Beast raids

Setting Default Behavior
Legendary raids Enabled Legendary Pokemon are allowed in raid spawn selection.
Ultra Beast raids Enabled Ultra Beasts are allowed in raid spawn selection.
Raid blacklist MissingNo Blacklisted specs are excluded from raids.

If Legendary or Ultra Beast raids are disabled, the randomizer discards a selected raid Pokemon of that category and draws another spawn from the same weighted set.

Shiny, Hidden Ability, and Gigantamax chances

Stars Shiny Hidden Ability Gigantamax Factor
1 star 1/4096 (0.02%) 1/150 (0.67%) 1/512 (0.20%)

3 star 1/2048 (0.05%) 1/100 (1.00%) 1/512 (0.20%)
4 star 1/1024 (0.10%) 1/75 (1.33%) 1/256 (0.39%)
5 star 1/1024 (0.10%) 1/50 (2.00%) 1/128 (0.78%)
