'''External Moves''' (also called Move Skills) are actions a sent-out Pokémon can perform in the overworld, outside of battle. They let a Pokémon use certain moves to interact with the world: smashing rocks, headbutting trees, lighting up caves, returning home, and more.

== Using External Moves ==
Send out a Pokémon, then open the External Move wheel to see the moves that Pokémon can perform. A Pokémon qualifies for a move by knowing a specific battle move, by having a particular Ability, or by being a specific species. Most External Moves consume 1 PP from the move that enables them and then enter a cooldown before they can be used again; for several moves the cooldown is shorter on faster Pokémon.
